Caring people building better lives in a united way

We serve the Greater Berwick Area: Berwick, Nescopeck Borough, Nescopeck Township, Hobbie, Wapwallopen, Mifflinville, Briar Creek Borough, Briar Creek Township, parts of North Centre Township, Beach Haven, and Summerhill. Berwick Area United Way keeps overhead at a minimum, with 87 cents of every dollar going to support community health and human service needs. What we raise here, stays here.

Why give to United Way? Why not just give directly to the agency?

  • Berwick Area United Way listens to you when you tell us what you and your neighbors, family and friends need in this community. We are continually going into the community to ask you what you think are the problems here. We also ask you what the good things are so that we can support those too.
  • Berwick Area United Way makes sure that the money you give us goes to meet those needs. We work with the programs we support to be sure they are doing what needs to be done. We encourage them to measure the progress they are making in improving the quality of life here for all of us.
  • Berwick Area United Way is a good steward of the money you give. We keep our expenses as low as possible, invest wisely and monitor what your money is doing in this community. We maintain communication with you and encourage you to participate as a volunteer.

Campaign Facts:

  • Money raised within our community stays within our community. The only money that leaves the area are dues to United Way of America and United Way of PA and donations which are designated to another United Way.
  • Campaign contributions help support 14 health and human service agencies which provide services to those in the Greater Berwick Area.
  • We want you to be comfortable with the gift you give so we ask everyone to give one hour's pay per month. That way everyone's gift will fit their income level.

Here's what your donation can accomplish:
