Letter Carrier's Food Drive

On Saturday, May 12th, put a grocery bag filled with non-perishable food items out by your mailbox and support the 2012 Letter Carriers' Food Drive.  Sponsored by the National Association of Letters Carriers and Campbell Soup, the drive goes a long way to support the three area food banks in Shickshinny, Berwick and Nescopeck.

We could also use volunteers to help sort donations at the food bank and to help with the pickups. Check out the volunteer page or call or email office for more information.  Thanks!

Why give to United Way? Why not just give directly to the agency?

  • Berwick Area United Way listens to you when you tell us what you and your neighbors, family and friends need in this community. We are continually going into the community to ask you what you think are the problems here. We also ask you what the good things are so that we can support those too.
  • Berwick Area United Way makes sure that the money you give us goes to meet those needs. We work with the programs we support to be sure they are doing what needs to be done. We encourage them to measure the progress they are making in improving the quality of life here for all of us.
  • Berwick Area United Way is a good steward of the money you give. We keep our expenses as low as possible, invest wisely and monitor what your money is doing in this community. We maintain communication with you and encourage you to participate as a volunteer.

Campaign Facts:

  • Money raised within our community stays within our community. The only money that leaves the area are dues to United Way of America and United Way of PA and donations which are designated to another United Way.
  • Campaign contributions help support 14 health and human service agencies which provide services to those in the Greater Berwick Area.
  • We want you to be comfortable with the gift you give so we ask everyone to give one hour's pay per month. That way everyone's gift will fit their income level.

Berwick Area United Way is dedicated to raising funds in the most efficient and effective way possible to help people in need.  Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED.

The President's Society recognizes those individuals who contribute $500.00 or more to the Berwick Area United Way Annual Campaign. Their generosity and loyalty is vital to the support of the programs that help make the Berwick area a better community for everyone. Thank you to each and every donor.

Loyalty Program

Our Loyalty Program recognizes donors who have given to the Berwick Area United Way for 10 years or longer. The program connects loyal contributors with the programs their contributions support, communicates the impact of their gifts and includes them in special events and activities. Our goal is to thank you for your support and to let you know what your gifts have accomplished. Please let us know if you should be included in this very special group of donors. Thank you for all you do!
